My name is Marc Propach, and I’m a graphic artist
with a focus on editorial design. Sometimes I draw stuff
and tinker with code, too. Here are a couple of projects

  • GOTHAER JOURNAL

    6 x year, 48+ pages. My longest assignment yet, I am doing design and layout for Gothaer Journal since about 2000.

  • GONEWS

    This large format publication for Gothaer Versicherungsbank VVaG is now in year 5 and still going strong.

  • MEDIENSERVICE

    Gothaer MedienService is a web-app for iPhone that utilizes RSS feeds to distribute content to journalist. (Pitch only)

  • AONEWS

    AONews started out as large format sister publication of GoNews, but over time changed to smaller format. Since 2008.

  • SIXPACK MAGAZINE

    HTML demo magazine I made for deployment with PUBLO. Can also be seen in action on publokiosk.com.

  • PUBLO MAGAZINEKIOSK

    Website for PUBLO MagazineKiosk, a side project with my longtime 10W40 partner Sven.

  • HITNEWS

    HitNews is a large format publication for hit-Technopark, Hamburg, Germany. 3 x year, ongoing assignment.

  • PREUSSAG PROFILE

    Special issue for Preussag Profile, ca. 1999. Unfortunately all data was lost in the big hard drive crash of 2010 ...

  • ERGO WALK

    Image brochure for Ergo Unternehmenskommunikation, Cologne, Germany. Older, but aged very well (still like the slim format).

    Awesome german basketball magazine that I helped start in 2003. Did about 20 or so complete issues.

    Another great basketball magazine I worked for back in the day. Did several complete issues and supportwork.

    A couple of shirts I designed for Basketballnerds.de, screen or DTG printed. Partially sold out though ...

  • PLANET BASKETBALL

    André Voigt & Jan Hieronimi wrote this excellent book, I did design, layout and illustration (Part II is in the works)

  • K1X FOOTWEAR ALMANACH

    The K1x Footwear Almanach is a nifty little catalogue I did for Kickz AG a while ago (maybe 2005 ..?).

  • PENTHOUSE GERMANY

    Yes, I really did work at Penthouse at one point supporting the layout staff. I will spare you the dirty details here.

  • CLASSIC CARS

    Development work and some production layouts for Autozeitung Classic Cars (Bauer Media), 20012-2013.

  • JOLIE BEFIT

    A proposed spin-off for german womens magatine Jolie, didn't happen in the end though. (Development only)

    • DAV FLYER

    Flyer for Deutscher Alpenverein, Cologne. Still like this one: clean and neat, and for the icons on the inside.

ABOUT ME

Born in Germany in 1976, I started creating my own magazines for friends and family approx. 10 years later. When I finished school, I went on to learn all aspects of designing and publishing at a full service agency for 3 years. I found my passion for editorial design when I started freelancing as a graphic artist for an editorial office in Cologne, Germany back in 1996 (These guys actually still hire me from time to time ...). In the last couple of years I've been doing mainly B2B magazines and started playing around with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and a tiny bit of PHP (also see box to the right).

I also got married to an amazing girl from the US and moved to the hinterlands of Texas in 2007, where we still reside to this day with our 3 boys, dog, cat & everything ...
